Don't Brush Off the Winter Blues

Feeling down? Don't brush off that feeling as simply a case of the "winter blues."
You don't have to tough it out on your own. You can take steps to keep your mood and motivation steady throughout the year.
According to Mayo Clinic, seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that's related to changes in seasons — SAD begins and ends at about the same times every year. If you're like most people with SAD, your symptoms start in the fall and continue into the winter months, sapping your energy and making you feel moody.
Talk to a parent or a counselor if you are feeling down. You may benefit from light therapy, medications or psychotherapy to help you manage your symptoms.

Wellness Culture at Skyline 2020

Welcome back students!

The SkyWell Club invites all Skyline students to join in our Monday meetings (right after school) to give input on how to improve our culture of wellness at Skyline.

This year we hope to roll out these campaigns, but we are open to new ideas:

  • Safe Driving campaign
  • Healthy Vending Machines
  • Sports Injury Prevention
  • Support for the annual Walk for Wellness with SAS
  • Support for Wellness Wednesdays on mental well-being topics
  • 6th annual Wellness Expo on February 12, 2020
If you have an idea on how to improve wellness for students and staff, please join us!
